After the 1st wave, only darkness remains. After the 2nd, only the lucky escape. And after the 3rd, only the unlucky survive. After the 4th wave, only one rule applies: trust no one. Now, it’s the dawn of the 5th wave, and on a lonely stretch of highway, Cassie runs from Them. The beings who only look human, who roam the countryside killing anyone they see. Who have scattered Earth’s last survivors. To stay alone is to stay alive, Cassie believes, until she meets Evan Walker. Beguiling and mysterious, Evan Walker may be Cassie’s only hope for rescuing her brother—or even saving herself. But Cassie must choose: between trust and despair, between defiance and surrender, between life and death. To give up or to get up

The 5th Wave was so good. I haven’t read an Alien book in so long. I’m pretty sure The Host was the last book I read with aliens, but I can’t be sure. I loved everything about this book!

I’ve been a bit obsessed with books like this, with something taking over the world (aliens, zombies, monsters, etc) and this just made me even more obsessed!

Cassie, Ben, Evan, Sammy, ah they were all so amazing. At first, I was wary about the POV switches and I didn’t expect the first one, but I quickly grew to love all the characters and their POVs!

The plot is action-packed with romance sprinkled in, and nothing felt forced. This book, despite being science fiction, was incredibly realistic and that made it even more exciting! I stayed up all night to finish it!

This review is so hard to write without including any spoilers, but I CANNOT wait for the next book! Super excited to see what happens!

If you like science fiction, aliens, end-of-the-human-race type books, you MUST read The 5th Wave!! It’s easily one of my favorite reads of the year so far! 🙂

Great review! 🙂 Alas, I haven’t read this book yet, but I definitely need to after hearing so many positive reviews. I don’t read a whole lot of taking-over-the-world books (unless dystopia counts), so I’ve been kind of hesitant, haha. The cover is gorgeous <3
