Princess Winter is admired by the Lunar people for her grace and kindness, and despite the scars that mar her face, her beauty is said to be even more breathtaking than that of her stepmother, Queen Levana. Winter despises her stepmother, and knows Levana won’t approve of her feelings for her childhood friend—the handsome palace guard, Jacin. But Winter isn’t as weak as Levana believes her to be and she’s been undermining her stepmother’s wishes for years. Together with the cyborg mechanic, Cinder, and her allies, Winter might even have the power to launch a revolution and win a war that’s been raging for far too long. Can Cinder, Scarlet, Cress, and Winter defeat Levana and find their happily ever afters?

First of all, I apologize for any and all spoilers. It was unavoidable.

Second, I also apologize for the excessive use of gifs in this post. I got excited. I couldn’t help myself.

Third, Aaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! This is book was perfection and I don’t know what to do with my life now that I’ve finished it and there’s no more books (except prequels/etc its not the same *cries*)! Someone send help.

This was me while reading Winter!

Cress left us with so many loose ends, and I was genuinely concerned that everything wouldn’t be resolved in Winter but then I realized that Winter is 800+ pages and I was no longer concerned (’cause that’s a lot of pages)… and by concerned I mean hopeful because unresolved things could mean a possible fifth book but no, Meyer managed to create an amazing ending to the series and resolve pretty much everything. Unfortunately.

I’ve never really had more than one or two OTPs in one book/series, so having four was pretty intense. I think Winter is my favorite book in the series because I got to see all of the couples together and it was adorable. I don’t want to spoil anything but oh man. Cress and Thorne <3

Cress and Thorne were soooo cute!

While I loved reading Winter and was sad that it was coming to an end, I feel like the ending was a little dragged out. Queen Levana finally got what she deserved, but it took like 400 pages for it happen… which was fiiineee and good and really made sure everything got tied up nicely, so I can’t really complain. I was just eager for the happy ending I desperately wanted for all of the characters.

So yeah… pretty much everything about this book was perfect. The romance, the plot (bye bye Queen Levana), the setting (Luna aka the Moon), and obviously the romance (Thorne and Cress, seriously) was amazing. Immediately after I finished Winter, I was so bummed that it was over. I wanted more.

I ended up introducing my friend Lily to this series, and she finished Cress soon after I finished Winter so I let her borrow my copy of Winter and she also adored it! We both agree that we need more. We want to know what happens next to the characters. I want to see more of their happily ever afters. Ahhgg.

So overall, if you haven’t read The Lunar Chronicles, you absolutely must check this series out! It’s wonderful and you will fall in love with Cinder’s world! Winter was a perfect ending for such a great series! I’ll miss reading about these characters.

Seriously. Read this series!

I am in LOVE with this series!! Like in a weird obsessive, over-the-top kind of way, and it’s slightly embarrassing, but I LOVE IT! Looking forward to reading Winter! Great review! 🙂
