Runes Review Tour!

Runes Review Tour!

4 Stars, Blog Tour, Reviews 2

I was excited to start this book after reading the blurb. Not only did the paranormal elements pull me in, so did the romance that blossomed between Raine and Torin. Usually my favorite part of the book is the middle, where everything is happening, but I was shocked and totally in love with the ending of Runes. I adored Torin as well, his character was very believable and I quickly grew attached. The paranormal element is original, and very easy… Read more »

Review: Between Here and Forever – Elizabeth Scott *Spoiler Alert*

I adored this book. Abby may be the most insecure character I’ve come across. She is constantly comparing herself to her older and ‘perfect’ sister, Tess. Abby is always putting herself down, seemingly unable to see herself clearly or positively, she is very pessimistic, especially when it comes to herself. The story starts off with Tess being hospitilized after being in a car accident, she is in a coma. Abby can’t stop thinking about how she needs Tess to get… Read more »

Review: Thirst No. 5 – Christopher Pike

Review: Thirst No. 5 – Christopher Pike

4 Stars, Reviews 0

This book just jumped all over the place. First, we have the plot line carried in from Thirst No.4, then we have Sita’s past popping up: her time in Auschwitz, the tale of Veronica, and Krishna. The beginning plot involving what happened in No. 4 seems to get lost somewhere in the middle, or at the very least, distorted. I may be mistaken, but its like the book just jumps from plotline to plotline in a very confusing and fast-paced… Read more »

Review: Damned – Chuck Palahniuk

Review: Damned – Chuck Palahniuk

This book was a riot! Constantly spouting hilarious yet intelligent remarks that will keep you flipping the pages! “The only thing that makes earth feel like Hell, or Hell feel like Hell, is our expectation that it ought to feel like Heaven. Earth is earth. Dead is dead.” (Damned, page 247.) I found Palahniuk’s vision of Hell completely obscene and disgusting, but also very perfect and funny in regards to Maddie’s point of view! I loved the characters, especially the… Read more »

Review: Shadow of Wrath (Sins of the 7) – L.W. Patricks

Review: Shadow of Wrath (Sins of the 7) – L.W. Patricks

4 Stars, Reviews 0

Death, Violence, Suggestive Language: I wouldn’t recommend this for younger readers. Shadow of Wrath was extremely well written, in my opinion. L.W. Patricks puts you in the this horrid arena, where children fight to the death, repeatedly, leaving only the children willing to kill to survive alive. Just because your alive, doesn’t mean your living, as the book harshly shows. Dog may be the champion and given better housing and food but he’s still just an animal, caged and tortured…. Review: Crank – Ellen Hopkins

**Warning: May contain spoilers, minimally** What I liked: I loved this book. It was beautifully written, despite the gruesome topics it addressed. The monster, rape, and teen pregnancy are definitely not taken lightheartedly and Ellen Hopkins strings all three into a wonderful book that touches your heart, pulls at your emotions, and completely moves you. I also really liked how this book triggered so many emotions within me. There is a disturbing scene, for me anyway, that made me feel sick… Read more »

Review: Cinder – Marissa Meyer!

Review: Cinder – Marissa Meyer!

4 Stars, Reviews 3

What I liked: I loved the fairy tale twist that was spun out so cleverly that it was impossible to put down. Cinder was unique and different, yet at the same time so easy to relate to because she was in some ways just a teenager trying to fit in. There were so many plot twists and unexpected revelations throughout the book that held my eyes glued to the pages. The world we are put in is absolutely incredible, not… Read more »
