Review: Little Forevers by Katie Kaleski

Review: Little Forevers by Katie Kaleski

Little Forevers was a let down for me. First, I must mention that I read an Advanced Reader Copy of the book, so there were still edits to be made to the version I read before it would be released. That means the final version could be better than my copy. But even so, I think this book was poorly edited and that the writing was not up to my expectations. Despite that, I still enjoyed the plot, characters, romance,… Read more »

Why ‘The Bold Type’ May Be My New Favorite Show

Why ‘The Bold Type’ May Be My New Favorite Show

TV Shows 0

I’m a show repeater. I rarely ever watch new shows. When I do decide to watch a new show, it’s after the first season has already aired. I don’t like waiting each week for new episodes. Plus, I  just like the comfort of re-watching my favorite characters and knowing exactly what is going to happen. So when I decided to watch The Bold Type’s series premiere, it was because it sounded exactly like my type of show. (Get it?) While I… Read more »

Review: The You I’ve Never Known by Ellen Hopkins

Review: The You I’ve Never Known by Ellen Hopkins

3 Stars, Reviews 0

I’ve read many of Ellen Hopkin’s over the years and I’ve enjoyed almost all of them. Hopkins’ writing style is so unique and unlike what you usually see when reading YA fiction, and that’s because Ellen writes her YA books mostly in verse. I love this. However, this time around, I just couldn’t really love this book or its characters. The Plot ♥ Ariel is used to living on the run, except she’s never been aware that that’s what it’s been…. Review: Caraval by Stephanie Garber

Review: Caraval by Stephanie Garber

4 Stars, Reviews 2

Caraval has gotten a lot of hype since it’s release. Which is maybe  why I’m struggling to write this review. First, let me say that I absolutely loved reading this book. It kept me captivated until the last page and left me wanting more! However, I also feel a little let down in some ways. Plot ♥ The plot of Caraval is unlike anything I’ve ever read before. Which could possibly be due to the fact that I don’t often read fantasy,… Read more »

Review: Lab Girl by Hope Jahren

Review: Lab Girl by Hope Jahren

5 Stars, Reviews 2

I am a little bit of a nerd when it comes to plants. When I was a kid, science and horticulture were my favorite subjects to learn about. When I saw Lab Girl on sale at Book Outlet, I jumped at the opportunity! Lab Girl was incredibly entertaining, knowledgeable, and had wonderful life messages.  It made me laugh, cringe, and it inspired me as well. Hope Jahren is one of the most credible and accomplished American female scientists who specializes in botany. She… Read more »

Review: The Infinite Sea by Rick Yancey

Review: The Infinite Sea by Rick Yancey

4 Stars, Reviews 0

The Infinite Sea wasn’t quite as good as The 5th Wave. Although I thoroughly enjoyed The Infinite Sea, I was really hoping to have the same reading experience that I had with the first book. Both followed a similar pattern in the plot, so it wasn’t like the sequel was off topic or anything. BUT, when I read the first book I stayed up all night long reading. I finished it in one sitting. So I was a bit disappointed when I wasn’t as… Read more »

Review: It Started with Goodbye by Christina June

Review: It Started with Goodbye by Christina June

4 Stars, Reviews 2

It Started with Goodbye is CUTE! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and I love that its a modern take on the Cinderella fairy tale. However, I felt like it was lacking a bit in terms of depth. Don’t get me wrong, this is a wonderful story that has a some awesome characters. WHO HAVE FUN HOBBIES. AND A CUTE SHIP. I just kept expecting there to be some greater level of meaning at some point, but there wasn’t. That’s okay, though…. Read more »

Review: Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour by Morgan Matson

Review: Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour by Morgan Matson

5 Stars, Reviews 4

Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour made me want to go on a road trip so much! This is the kind of road trip book I’ve been looking for! Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour started off a bit slow. Since the first few pages are kind of like an info dump, it took me longer to become invested in the story. Right from the start, it’s pretty clear that something tragic has happened to Amy, but the details are unclear. Soon though, we… Read more »

Review: Before I Go to Sleep by S.J. Watson

Review: Before I Go to Sleep by S.J. Watson

4 Stars, Reviews 10

Hola! I found Before I Go to Sleep to be quite intriguing. I knew the experience would be different, with it being the first adult novel I’ve ever read. It definitely suits me recently turning 20 (woop woop). To put it in the simplest of terms, it was good. I won’t go as far as to say that it was amazing, but I definitely did enjoy myself. I guess that’s all that really matters, right? Alright, gotta do a little background… Read more »
