Well, before this review, I never realized how hard and confusing it was to write about, even just in the form a review, two characters with the same name. So, props to David Levithan and John Green ๐
Will Grayson meets Will Grayson in a porn shop, of all places, and suddenly, both of their lives are changing, and it’s all because of one person: Tiny Cooper. Tiny is Will Grayson’s best friend, and OWG’s (other Will Grayson) boyfriend, but neither relationships are perfect. Will Grayson begins to feel left behind, like a back up plan, as the last person Tiny turns to when he has no one left. OWG has never had a boyfriend before, and is just now making his sexuality public, not to mention he struggles with himself and his depression, making his relationship with Tiny something he has to work at.ย As both Will Graysons’ world’s intertwine and change, they both make realizations about themselves and about Tiny, and how they relate, leading up to one fabulous play.
Overall: Will Grayson, Will Grayson is hilarious and romantic, and I absolutely adored both Will Graysons, despite their flaws and mistakes that make you want to throw the book (which I did). This is one of the funniest, in the strangest ways at times, books that I’ve read in a while, and it’s one that I definitely recommend.
