Review: The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey

The 5th Wave was so good. I haven’t read an Alien book in so long. I’m pretty sure The Host was the last book I read with aliens, but I can’t be sure. I loved everything about this book!

I’ve been a bit obsessed with books like this, with something taking over the world (aliens, zombies, monsters, etc) and this just made me even more obsessed!

Cassie, Ben, Evan, Sammy, ah they were all so amazing. At first, I was wary about the POV switches and I didn’t expect the first one, but I quickly grew to love all the characters and their POVs!

The plot is action-packed with romance sprinkled in, and nothing felt forced. This book, despite being science fiction, was incredibly realistic and that made it even more exciting! I stayed up all night to finish it!

This review is so hard to write without including any spoilers, but I CANNOT wait for the next book! Super excited to see what happens!

If you like science fiction, aliens, end-of-the-human-race type books, you MUST read The 5th Wave!! It’s easily one of my favorite reads of the year so far! πŸ™‚

  1. Great review! πŸ™‚ Alas, I haven’t read this book yet, but I definitely need to after hearing so many positive reviews. I don’t read a whole lot of taking-over-the-world books (unless dystopia counts), so I’ve been kind of hesitant, haha. The cover is gorgeous ❀
